striders star (long run) - Bobbin Head

6.00am, 2 hours 29 minutes, 31.6 km, Wahrooga - Bobbin Head return.

My first STAR was a scenic and tough run. I enjoyed running with a diverse group of good runners in the 6.20 am group, and getting plenty of hill work. The pace extended me, and quickly accelerated after a good long warm up. I was pretty good in the second hour of the long run this week. Now to do some work on that third hour.

The STAR was particularly enjoyable at the finish for eating fruit, muffins, brownies and the copious drinks.

I'm going to be a bit stiff tomorrow morning.

Saturday 4 February 2006

Ran the striders 10km at Lane Cove. Finished in 38.43.
Tough race, happy with the result.

Yesterday's long winded report got sucked in and gobbled up by blogger, so in short there was pain, hills, more pain, and a fast finish for a pb.

We can see you 6:20's zoom by... although last week it took longer to catch us!! The breakfast is always worth it... I day dream about it in the last 30mins or so! See you Tuesday

Woohoo! Congrats on the PB. Gees 38:43. Better not get too much faster or they'll need to start a 6:30am group for you at the STaR runs.

A good weekend's running DJ. Things look to be going along very well for you. Most of all, you really seem to be enjoying yourself at the moment.

Fantastic PB DJ 38.43 for 10k followed by a very fast 32k - congratulations.

No need to run Six Foot - you can fly!

Well done on the PB. Sounds like all that training is paying off despite your constant grumbling about being tired :)

DJ 2:29 on that STaR is really quick. It is listed as an H4 which means one of the worst for hills, so great effort to go that quick. Great PB on Lane Cove as well. That should equate to low 37's at North Head in May after all the excuses have finished!
